Cosy mysteries

Cosy mysteries or "cosies" are crime novels which feature an amateur sleuth, lots of tea, comfort food, cats and dogs, and not much violence at all. The amateur detective seems to stumble into unsolved crimes frequently. Cosy crimes are solved quite quickly (usually in under 350 pages), and thus the Cosy mystery makes the perfect comfort read for a dark winter evening, or a long train journey.
